The travel and tourism industry worldwide is expanding and diversifying rapidly. As more and more people travel for business and leisure, the industry has seen a strong increase in demand for well–trained service sector professionals. The industry needs people who can deal competently and confidently with a range of activities and who possess the knowledge, skills and procedures required for travel and tourism work.

The Cambridge International Diploma in Travel and Tourism provides a framework for the acquisition of the knowledge and understanding of the issues related to working in travel and tourism and enables individuals to develop practical skills in a range of travel and tourism related work roles.

Scheme of Assessment

The core module at each level is assessed by means of an examination offered on a fixed date twice each year.

Optional modules at Standard Level are assessed by examination or on–demand assignment, as appropriate for each module. All optional modules at Advanced Level are assessed by on–demand assignments which can be submitted for assessment by CIE examiners at any time throughout the year.
