Special Notice: From 2007

English syllabus

The Cambridge International Diploma in Computing has been withdrawn. After 31 December 2006 entries from new candidates for the Diploma in Computing will not be accepted. Candidates must complete all modules by 31 December 2009.

Overview

The Cambridge International Diploma in Computing recognises a candidate’s competence in programming and using computer systems. This Diploma has been developed specifically for the international market, recognising the growing importance of employees working across geographic and cultural borders.

The competencies assessed are designed to allow candidates to clearly demonstrate their capability at controlling a computer and in particular at automating tasks through the use of programming languages. In completing the practical tasks and project, the candidate is expected to work on real–life scenarios and to produce appropriate solutions and documentation. Candidates will be assessed on the full range of computing skills that are necessary in producing a solution to a problem – analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation.

Scheme of Assessment

Assessment takes the form of two written papers, a practical project and a computing project.

Assessment is available twice a year (June and November), enabling centres to choose appropriate times for students.
