This practice-based qualification provides an opportunity for continuing professional development relevant to all teaching and learning contexts. The Diploma enables teachers to improve the quality of teaching and learning by updating their professional skills and understanding. As a result, teachers are better prepared to introduce the latest curriculum developments, and thereby achieve an international benchmark of excellence for their school. Diploma students can be full or part-time teachers or trainers in schools, colleges, training organizations and companies, working with students from pre-school and primary through to higher, adult and work-based education. They can be new in the teaching or training role or have years of experience.
