Overview

The Cambridge International Certificate is a practice–based qualification for continuing professional development, relevant to all teaching and learning contexts.

As the first step in Cambridge’s continuing professional development framework, the Certificate has been designed immediately to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

The Certificate is ideal for anyone in a teaching or training role who needs to update their skills. It provides an excellent preparation for the Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.

Candidates can be full or part–time teachers or trainers. They work in all sorts of institutions, including schools, colleges, training organizations and companies, and with learners of different ages and stages, from pre–school and primary through to higher, adult and work–based education. They can be new in the teaching/training role or have years of experience.

Centres can be institutions running the Certificate as an in–house programme for their own staff, or training centres providing external programmes, or education and training authorities using the Certificate in large–scale development projects.

The Certificate is organized around three activities:

To achieve the Certificate, candidates must complete a practice–based assignment, consisting of evidence of these activities in their teaching, which is submitted to Cambridge for assessment and feedback.
