International Practitioner Professional Development project
CIE and the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education are working together to enhance international teacher education. The IPPD project includes the following benefits:
- CIE's professional development qualifications such as the Cambridge International Certificate and Diploma for Teachers and Trainers are accredited within the Faculty's Practitioner Professional Development framework, fulfilling the requirements of Stage 1 towards a Masters degree.
- We are also developing new courses and qualifications for initial teacher education and training and continuing professional development. For example, an international advanced qualification in Educational Research will be piloted in January 2009. A Certificate and Diploma in Educational Leadership is in development.
- This collaboration strengthens our capability to help ministries of education and other public authorities in education reform projects, in which the development of teachers and teaching is such a crucial factor.
- Joint research into critical international education issues will be another important facet of our work together.
