The Cambridge O Level Woodwork syllabus gives learners the opportunity to develop a range of practical drawing and woodworking skills. They learn practical bench-based skills, manipulating different types of wood in order to produce a range of items. Learners also build their graphics and drawing skills so that they can both interpret working drawings and design their own woodwork projects. They also improve their ability both to solve technical design problems and to communicate their knowledge and understanding of the subject. The syllabus provides experience in using some common hand and machine tools, while also encouraging a safe approach to practical work.
