This subject is also known as: History World Affairs since 1919
By developing an interest in the past, the O Level History syllabus improves students' understanding of the social and cultural values of different times, both as a basis for further study and encouraging a life-long interest in the subject. Students build both their historical knowledge and their skills in using historical concepts and explanatory tools. The syllabus covers the history of different areas of the world in the twentieth century, offering students a choice of study from the history of Western Europe, the Americas, USSR and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and Asia, as well as a section on general international issues.
