Academic Qualifications

Our general qualifications assess ability in a wide range of subject areas and cover the full school age range. They are primarily school based, but are also being taken by an increasing number of adults wishing to extend their knowledge.

Upper Secondary (16–18 years)

Our Upper Secondary qualifications are designed for students aged 16 or over. They include Cambridge International A and AS Levels, the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), the group award for A and AS Level, and our new qualification Cambridge Pre–U.

Lower Secondary (11–14 years)

Designed for 11–14 year olds, our qualifications for Lower Secondary students include Cambridge Checkpoint and our Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme. Cambridge Checkpoint enables schools to have access to standardised tests that provide feedback on a student’s strengths and weaknesses in key curriculum areas. Our Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme is a package of teaching, learning and assessment materials for students approximately 11-14 years old and bridges the gap between primary and middle secondary.

Cambridge ICT Starters is designed to introduce Primary and Lower Secondary students to the key ICT applications they need to use to acquire ICT literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives.

Primary (5–11 years)

For ages 5 to 11, the Cambridge International Primary Programme gives schools a framework to develop Mathematics, English and Science skills and knowledge in young children. The Primary Programme provides guidance for curriculum development and classroom teaching and learning, and allows teachers to assess children’s learning as they progress.

Also for primary students, Cambridge ICT Starters is designed to introduce students to the key ICT applications they need to use to acquire that literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives.
