Teaching and learning
As part of our plan to broaden our offer of an interdisciplinary, skills based programme throughout our 5-19 curriculum, we are delighted to tell you that we will introduce Cambridge Global Perspectives for 5 to 14 year olds later this year.
Cambridge Primary and Secondary 1 Global Perspectives will available for first teaching from June 2018. The programme develops the skills of research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration and communication and will be offered with both a Cambridge Primary and Secondary 1 Checkpoint test.
Research says that the earlier students start to develop and practise their skills, the greater the impact on their learning. Making Cambridge Global Perspectives available to younger students will develop and embed cross curricular skills at an earlier age, supporting them in their studies as they progress to Cambridge IGCSE and beyond.
In early 2016 we launched a pilot of the Cambridge Global Perspectives 5-14 programme. We are collaborating with a number of Cambridge schools to ensure the programme delivers both the appropriate progression and assessment of skills; and the flexibility in implementation by our many diverse schools around the world.
Cambridge Global Perspectives will be available to registered Cambridge schools as a core part of Cambridge Primary and Secondary 1.The programme strengthens the links across English, Maths, Science and English as a Second Language at Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Secondary 1 level.
Look out for more details about the programme, its support resources and the Checkpoint tests in September 2017. Face to face training will be available from February 2018 onwards.
