Students who took the first Cambridge Pre-U exams in June 2010 have now graduated from university. It marks another milestone for the qualification which grew out of a need to give students better preparation for university.
So is it delivering on its promise? Yes, according to the students we’ve spoken to. Cambridge Pre-U’s emphasis on self-directed learning and critical thinking helps close the gap between school and university, and sets students up for their degree.
Jacqui Agate, 19, studied English Language and Literature at the University of Leeds. Jacqui completed Cambridge Pre-U Global Perspectives and Research (GPR) at Central Sussex College in Haywards Heath, 2009-2011.
Amy Bond, 20, studied History at the University of Cambridge. Amy completed Cambridge Pre-U History at Watford Grammar School for Girls in Hertfordshire, 2009-2011.
Damiya Aloysius Yogaratnam, 20, studied BSC Economics and Accountancy at City University London. Damiya completed Cambridge Pre-U Business & Management at Coloma Convent Girls School in Surrey, 2008-2010.
