Teacher training in Kuwait

A view from KuwaitCIE and the Kuwait Public Authority of Applied Education and Training (PAAET) are delivering a joint teacher training programme that will result in 600 PAAET teachers and trainers completing the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.

PAAET recognises the key role that education - and teachers and trainers - play in creating a society that is skilled, able to embrace change, and to be at the forefront of international developments. By enabling teachers and trainers to develop their skills, PAAET hopes to encourage economic and societal growth in Kuwait.

The Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers programme has been running successfully for a number of years in countries around the world. Thousands of teachers and trainers in countries including India, Mexico, Singapore, UAE and China have benefted from CIE′s professional development programmes.

"The Public Authority of Applied Education and Training is delighted to have an effective cooperation with University of Cambridge International Examinations in training the Trainers/Teachers working at Kuwait′s 10 training institutes. We are looking at this initial phase of cooperation as a starting point to diversify our relationship with CIE to cover training in Management, and in other areas relevant to PAAET′s work."

Dr Yaqoub Al Refaei

Director-General of PAAET
