- When were the results for the May/June 2008 session released?
- The provisional results from the June 2008 Examination Session for the qualifications listed below were released on 10 August 2008 and are now available for Centres to access on the CIE Direct website:

- Where can I find the form for submitting an enquiry about the May/June 2008 results?
- The deadline for the receipt of enquiries about results in the May/June 2008 examination session is 30 September. Hard copies of the form will be included in the despatch of Statements of Results which your centre receives at the end of August. Electronic copies of the form can be downloaded from the Syllabus and Support materials section of CIE Direct or sent to centres upon request to CIE Customer Services. Full details of the services available and the fees are detailed on the form. For further guidance on submission of result enquiries please refer to section 21 of the Administrative Guide for Centres 2008.

October/November 2008 Examination Sessions

Main despatches are planned based on the final entries that are made by the deadline. If entries are delayed,
despatches will be delayed, so it is in your school’s best interests to get these in on time. You are also reminded that
all entries and entry amendments received after the entry closing date will be subject to late entry fees.

- When should I expect to receive our centres’ examination materials for the October/November 2008 session?

Early Question Papers and Instructions
All examination materials for the early question papers (as detailed in the timetable) were despatched in July based on the estimated entries that your centre has made for 2008. If your centre did not make estimated entries, the materials will be despatched based on the final entries that were made prior to the entry deadline on 16 August.
Timetabled Question Papers
HIGCSE Question papers were despatched on 15 August 2008.
IGCSE and GCE O, AS and A Level - The main despatch of question papers will be sent by 23 September and will include question papers for all examination entries received by the entry closing date of 16 August. There will then be two subsequent despatches of question papers on 26 September and 1 October which will include question papers for entries received after the main entry closing date and retake entries for which the entry closing date is 21 September.
CIPP - Question papers will be despatched on 29 September 2008.
Checkpoint - Question papers will be despatched on 26 September 2008.
All question paper despatch notes should be checked upon receipt and any discrepancies or missing question papers which are not marked as ‘To Follow’ queried with CIE Customer Services immediately.
Administrative Materials
For the first time the administrative materials for the examinations in October/November 2008 will be split into two separate despatches. The first despatch will be sent out in late September and will contain materials such as attendance registers, forecast grade forms, script packet labels (not bar coded labels), envelopes etc.
The second despatch is sent out in early October in time for the first examination and will contain the Bar Coded Labels.
The amount of material sent to your centre is calculated based on the number of entries made by the final entry deadline in August. If entries were made after the final entry deadline the number of materials you receive may not match the number of entries you have made. May/June 2009 and October/November 2009 Examination Sessions
- What are the implications of not making estimated entries?
- CIE starts planning an examination session many months in advance of live entries being received. To aid the planning process, we need an indication of the number of candidates that are likely to be entered for certain syllabuses and options. The deadline for making estimated entries is 15 October. The early despatches of examination materials are based on these estimated entries, and so, if we do not receive any estimated entries your despatch of material could be significantly delayed, impacting upon your schools planning processes.
