| Step 1: Entries | Final Entries: the entry details for each candidate for each syllabus to be taken. Centres must make Final Entries for each candidate for each syllabus and option required, so that CIE can administer, moderate and mark the assessment. Centres can submit Final Entries by using CAMEO or the Entry Spreadsheet. Full instructions on submitting Final Entries to CIE are in the Procedures for the Submission of Entries (INT./E.3). CIE sends this document to every Centre each year. Centres can also download it from CIE Direct. |

| Step 2: Examination Materials and Question Papers | Examination Materials, administrative instructions, examination stationery and question papers are despatched for each session to Centres, based on their entry requirements. CIE despatches the materials before the examination period. Centres should check them carefully on receipt. Centres must not open the packets of question papers or other examination materials until the time appointed for the examination concerned. |
| Step 3: Examinations | Centres must make sure candidates take CIE’s examinations at the times stated on the timetable. Centres are permitted to start the examinations at any time within the ‘window’ for the session but must ensure that the finish will be within the times specified. Centres unable to meet this requirement can apply for a timetable deviation. |
| Step 4: Results and Certificates | Examination results documentation is available in a number of different formats – for publication to candidates and for use by staff at the Centre. Results can be issued to candidates as soon as they are available online, or immediately after the hard copy is received. The results that are published are provisional and CIE reserves the right to amend the information given. The results are confirmed at a later date by the issue of certificates. |
