Congratulations to high achieving students in South Asia who have gained recognition from CIE for their outstanding performance in the June and November examination session.
The following students have been awarded prizes for achieving the best results in their respective categories in the June 2007 examination session:

The Brilliance in Sri Lanka award ceremony organised by University of Cambridge International Examinations and the British Council was held on 24 November 2007, at the Jubilee Hall, Galle Face Hotel, Colombo. The ceremony was attended by Mr Susil Premajayanth, Minister of Education; Guy Lane, Sales and Marketing Director; and Nimali Hettiarachchi, Regional Representative Sri Lanka; who presented the awards to high achieving students from the region.
Guy Lane emphasised the success of the Sri Lankan students is his welcoming speech:
'Education is a partnership endeavour ... a partnership in which parents, teachers, principals and CIE, all have a role to play. We work together to encourage and support learners and create a supportive environment that stretches and nurtures young minds. Our very successful Sri Lankan students are a testament to the strength of this partnership and to individual hard work and talent.'

CIE also presented prizes to the 2007 Inspirational Teachers nominated by schools and the winners of the CIE Holiday Diary Competition.
University of Cambridge International Examinations in conjunction with the British Council held the Brilliance in Bangladesh award ceremony on 1 December 2007 at British Council, Dhaka. Guy Lane, Sales and Marketing Director, William Bickerdike, Regional Manager South Asia and June Rollinson, Director British Council, presented awards to students who achieved the highest marks in the June 2007 Cambridge examination session.
The awards recognised students in the following categories:
CIE will once again be hosting three ceremonies in Pakistan to congratulate students who achieved outstanding results in the June and November 2007 examination sessions. Students will receive prizes for coming Top in the World and Top in Pakistan. Prizes will also be awarded for best overall performances across a number of subjects. The ceremonies will take place as follows:

CIE will be hosting an award ceremony on 25 March at Rato Bangala School in Kathmandu, to recognize the outstanding achievements of those students who took Cambridge International O Level qualifications in the June 2007 examination session. As part of the ceremony, awards will be given to those coming Top in the World or Top in Nepal in a Cambridge International O Level. William Bickerdike, Regional Manager South Asia, will present the awards to students. This event is by invitation only.
