Cambridge Outlook 14 (2516Kb)
05 April 2012
We are pleased to announce that Richmond upon Thames College, one of the largest Further Education colleges in the South East of England and one of the top performing colleges in London, has chosen to adopt Cambridge Pre-U.
Students at Richmond upon Thames College will be offered Cambridge Pre-U in eight subjects from September 2012.
Kathleen Wildman, Curriculum Divisional Director at Richmond upon Thames, said, "Initially we are offering the Cambridge Pre-U Certificate in eight Principal Subjects - Classical Heritage, Drama and Theatre, Economics, English Literature, Fine Art, History, Music, Philosophy and Theology. However, as the popularity for this exciting new qualification increases, we hope that we would be able expand the programme and offer additional subjects."
Ann Puntis, Chief Executive of University of Cambridge International Examinations said, "We are delighted that Richmond College has chosen to offer Cambridge Pre-U to students from September 2012.
"Take-up of Cambridge Pre-U is growing in popularity for schools across the board. The number of students taking it has doubled in two years, showing a growing appetite amongst schools and FE colleges like Richmond College for a qualification that helps students to bridge the gap between school and university.
"The government’s announcement this week about strengthening the relationship between universities and final school examinations and moving away from a modular approach demonstrates that Cambridge Pre-U, in many ways, is one step ahead of the game."
