Congratulations to Cambridge learners worldwide

June 2011 exam results

On 11 August 2011, thousands of Cambridge learners in 160 countries received the results of their Cambridge exams.

Opening exam results is always a nerve-wracking experience. Cambridge schools worldwide have been sending us their reactions to the June 2011 exam series. Here are some of their comments:

Anglo Singapore International School, Thailand

Jeff Chen, Head of Department, Secondary English and Humanities:
"It has been a pleasure seeing our students grow this past year in our newly-implemented Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. These secondary pupils have depicted nothing less than extraordinary persistence and diligence throughout this learning process."

Nguyen Trong Tin, Cambridge learner:
"I am totally satisfied with my Cambridge International AS Level results (A, B, C). Those grades were achieved through hard work and solid consistency. I am now studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry and AS English Language in the A2 curriculum. After finishing high school, I will go to the United States to study pre-med and attend a medical school. I want to be a doctor to help people to overcome diseases and sickness."

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngoc, Cambridge learner:
"After putting all my heart and effort into the Cambridge International AS Level exams, I was anxious for my results. My heart skipped a beat when my name was called. Holding the result paper in my hand, I couldn’t help but scream out loud. Getting all Grade As is unexpected. With that motivation, I will work even harder for my A2 courses, SAT and TOEFL exams. Taking a business major in an American top university will be the prize for my effort."

Leicester High School, UK

Diana Wassell, Deputy Head:
"Qualifications in modern languages are a huge plus in our increasingly international world. They are an enormously useful tool in themselves, or as add-ons to a wide range of other subjects, and open many doors along the careers path. Leicester High School's excellent August 2011 Cambridge IGCSE results in French, German and Spanish prove how important it is to follow qualification courses which not only stretch and challenge learners with stimulating material, but also, increase their cultural awareness. The Cambridge IGCSE has done all this and has helped our girls to face the 21st century."

Singapore International School, India

Manasi Goel, Cambridge IGCSE learner who achieved A* in all her subjects:
"At first, my results seemed to be unbelievably amazing; then as it sank in, I realized that I owed my success to my teacher, peers, and family particularly because I did not start off as a Cambridge IGCSE student and took time to adjust to this new program. Through those difficult times, it was diligence and self-belief that helped me overcome obstacles. Every night I go to sleep knowing I have tried my best; that is all that matters."

SVKM International School, India

Harpreet Randhawa, Cambridge IGCSE Coordinator
"
An amazing result by our second batch of students in the Cambridge IGCSE programme. Kudos to the faculty and the students for displaying hard work, perseverance and dedication in achieving excellent results for the school... Heartfelt gratitude to Cambridge for all the support to faculty and administrative staff in ensuring that the Cambridge IGCSE programme is carried out as per the guidelines and requirements of the curriculum. I am delighted to share that all candidates achieve passes above C and especially happy that many achieved A* and A passes."

Taman Rama School, Bali

Kurt Lovell, Accounting and Business Studies teacher:
"
My students in Cambridge International A Level Accounting and Business Studies gained insight into the intricacies of accounting and principles of business with international practices, standards and ideas and achieved fine results with consistent work throughout the school year. I am particularly pleased as for many of them English is a second language. They worked equally hard at home as in the classroom and their results rewarded this effort.”

Haresh Bhojwani, Chemistry teacher:
"Cambridge International A Level Chemistry assists learners in understanding the world around them. The results at our school clearly demonstrate an enthusiasm and competitiveness for this life science. I’m delighted that all candidates achieved passes above Grade C and especially pleased that so many achieved Grade A* and A passes."

***Best wishes to Cambridge learners and schools around the world. Good luck with the next stage of your education.***
