International A Level teachers share learning in Mumbai

17 April 2009

Mumbai training 2009

Nearly 40 teachers took part in Cambridge International A/AS Level training courses in Mumbai recently.

The Stage 1 courses for teachers of Biology, Accounting and Physics were held at Singapore International School on 4-5 April. CIE trainers gave lots of practical tips to help teachers get the best from Cambridge syllabuses, and improve students' results.

Each two-day course included a detailed guide to the subject syllabus, and an overview of mark schemes, examiners' standards and expectations.

Ian Chambers, CIE Regional Manager, South Asia said: 'Teachers at these events are keen to ask questions about the most effective ways of teaching parts of the syllabus. Such events not only allow teachers to interact with CIE professional trainers but also provide an excellent forum for Indian teachers to network and exchange ideas.'

CIE professional development courses help create a support network of Cambridge teachers in each region.  Seventeen schools were represented at the training in Mumbai - giving teachers a great opportunity to work alongside peers from other schools, and develop useful professional contacts.

CIE holds over 800 training days every year. Check our Events schedule to find out when the next courses are taking place in your region - and to take advantage of our early bird discounts!
