Cambridge International Examinations responds to HMC report

27 September 2012

Cambridge International Examinations responds to a report from the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC) on endemic problems with marking, awarding, re-marks and appeals at GCSE and A Level, 2007-12.

Cambridge International Examinations Chief Executive, Ann Puntis said:

"We welcome the report published by HMC, which provides a comprehensive analysis and draws attention to a number of significant issues. We share their concern in making sure learners get the results they deserve. We are also pleased that the report demonstrates the confidence and trust that schools have in Cambridge qualifications. This year we have seen a significant increase in schools switching to Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge Pre-U. It is great to hear such positive feedback from schools like King Edward's School in Birmingham, who are very satisfied with the outcome for their students. We will continue to strive to ensure world-class levels of service for all of our schools and learners."
