Two Lower Secondary Program professional development courses were held in the Orlando area of Florida in April. One of the courses was aimed at teachers of LSP, and was attended by over 60 teachers representing 22 schools from 10 states and 2 countries. The other course was aimed at programme coordinators, and covered topics such as administration of LSP, websites and marketing.
Also in Orlando in April, 160 delegates from 34 schools gathered for a Stage 1 IGCSE professional development workshop led by UK trainers Marian Cox, Ray Ennion, Les Fairclough and Gillian Winkworth.
Feedback from delegates at all these events was extremely positive, and they appreciated the teaching ideas that they picked up from the trainers.
A further professional development took place in the US in May, this time for Stage 1 teachers of Cambridge International Primary Programme. It was led by CIPP expert Kate Ruttle, and was held in Washington. The workshop sessions focused on assessment for learning, standards and marking, resources and implementation strategies.
Best Practices Teacher Workshops will be hosted by Rockledge High School in Florida on 4 - 5 December for many subjects. Registration information will be sent to all US Cambridge Center Coordinators by the end of October.
Make sure you don't miss out on professional development opportunities in the US! Keep checking our Events schedule for details of forthcoming courses.
