Cambridge International Examinations responds to UK government plans to reform the education system in England for 14 to 16 year olds

We welcome efforts to reform the English education system. All successful education systems change and innovate and we welcome the proposals.
Early signs point towards an international and linear approach, features of the Cambridge IGCSE.
We are delighted that the Education Secretary, Michael Gove, when announcing his proposals highlighted Cambridge IGCSE as an exemplar model.
He said, "I would encourage all schools to consider how the IGCSE might be an appropriate preparation for the changes that we hope to introduce."
Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is taken in 140 countries and is designed to be taught in a linear way. Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of this qualification, which is tried, tested and trusted by teachers in the UK and worldwide. The growth of Cambridge IGCSE over the past year, 21% worldwide and 100% in the UK, shows the continued success of this qualification in meeting the needs of schools, teachers and students around the world.
