CTC 2012 'Confident learners, confident teachers: new ways of looking at leadership'
The importance of developing leadership capabilities among students is often mentioned as an aspect of preparing them for life in the modern world yet few schools explicitly consider what this might involve. Equally a good deal of professional development practice focuses on the teacher as an instructional leader without consideration of what this means.
- What does Leadership mean in the context of students? Can we develop these skills? If so, how?
- What does Leadership look like for classroom teachers?
- Does Leadership in the information age and in a globalized world mean the same as it always has or something new?
- What role can (or should) schools have as leaders in their communities?
Join us at the Cambridge Teachers Conference 2012 to explore these and other questions. Keynote addresses from experts in the field will provide you with cutting edge ideas about leadership, and interactive workshops will enable you to discuss these ideas with fellow teachers.
Optional training courses for teachers who want to find out more about Cambridge IGCSE syllabuses for First Language English, English Literature and Geography, will be held on Thursday 20 September.
