Cambridge IGCSE has been available for many years in independent schools in the UK. Sixteen Cambridge IGCSE subjects are now available for state maintained schools.
Over 300 UK schools, and more than 4,000 schools in over 125 countries, teach Cambridge IGCSE.
Cambridge IGCSE courses are renowned for developing vital educational skills, including recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving, initiative, teamwork and investigative skills.
Over 300 UK independent schools offer Cambridge IGCSE in many different subjects. We offer 70 different Cambridge IGCSE subjects, including 30 different language syllabuses.

The following syllabuses, known worldwide as Cambridge IGCSE, are approved for funding under Section 96 and listed on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications (NDAQ) as Cambridge International Level 1/Level 2 Certificates:

State schools can draw down funding for these subjects by following this route. The syllabus content is exactly the same as Cambridge IGCSE, but with prescriptions for assessment options in some subjects.

Cambridge IGCSE is internationally recognised as being equivalent to and benchmarked against the UK GCSE. Although there is a huge overlap on content with the UK National Curriculum, there are some differences, including the following:
Over 300 UK schools have switched to Cambridge IGCSE. The syllabuses can be mapped straightforwardly onto current teaching and learning frameworks in UK schools.
