09 Feb 10 Cambridge scholarships open path to bright future
Cambridge qualifications are internationally recognised as a mark of quality by schools, universities and employers.
Schools in Pakistan are increasingly realising the benefits of offering the complete Cambridge International Curriculum for 5–19 year olds. Cambridge qualifications are continually developing to meet both global and local needs. CIE is committed to providing qualifications and services that are relevant, reliable, affordable and internationally recognised by schools, universities and employers worldwide. CIE qualifications are designed for all students and are suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Cambridge O Level has been offered by CIE for over 50 years and is a well established qualification that keeps pace with educational developments to ensure it remains modern, flexible and relevant to today?s needs. Cambridge O Level courses are renowned for developing vital educational skills, including the recall of knowledge, problem solving, decision making, evaluation and investigative skills. As such, Cambridge O Level provides an excellent foundation for International A and AS Levels and is widely taken in South Asia including Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Cambridge IGCSE is an alternative to Cambridge O Level. It gives schools the 'building blocks' they need to make the right decisions in curriculum design, planning and delivery. Cambridge IGCSE offers a flexible course of study that gives students the freedom to choose subjects that are right for them, whilst providing them with a broad knowledge base and lifelong skills. Cambridge IGCSE is regularly updated and extended and offers schools a wide range of well-resourced and supported courses.
Schools, universities and employers worldwide recognise Cambridge qualifications as a mark of quality. Cambridge International A and AS Levels are accepted as proof of the abilities required to enter a degree course. University admissions officers around the world tell us that Cambridge qualifications prepare students more effectively as they equip students with key skills required for university. Each year, thousands of students doing Cambridge get the grades they need to go to universities worldwide, including the UK, US, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. Cambridge qualifications open up national and international professional opportunities in careers such as finance, law and medicine.
Cambridge International A and AS Levels
The Cambridge International Primary Programme is aimed at children aged 5–11. It helps develop core skills in numeracy, literacy and understanding scientific observation. The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme, for students aged 11–14, builds on the skills developed at Primary level in Mathematics, English and Science, and prepares students for their first external examinations. Increasingly schools in Pakistan look to Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary to help lay the foundations for a successful future.
