David Cogger joined the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, now Cambridge Assessment, in 1999 as GCE Group Manager for University of Cambridge International Examinations.
In April 2001 he was appointed Assistant Director of Operations, Projects and Technology.
In 2003, David was asked to lead Cambridge Assessment's Electronic Script Management Programme and in October 2005 was appointed Director of Operations at University of Cambridge International Examinations.
David started his career as an electronics engineer and worked in a variety of organisations, from designing and commissioning transmitter sites and equipment systems for the BBC World Service to designing weapon-aiming systems and terrain-following radar interpretation systems for military aircraft.
He joined Cambridge Instruments (renamed Leica Microsystems from 1990) and held various posts including engineer, production manager, service manager, engineering and development manager, working on scanning electron microscopes, x-ray analysers and systems for making computer and communications chips.
